Arthritis Types

There are over 100 arthritis types! As an arthritis patient, I was amazed to learn this fact. What is arthritis? It’s not just a single disease as I once thought. The word arthritis literally means joint inflammation (arth = joint, ritis = inflammation), which is treated either by drugs or natural pain relief alternatives. The word arthritic refers to any person afflicted with arthritis.

While the causes of arthritis are different, they often share a common symptom—persistent joint pain. Pain is the body's natural warning system. The two most common forms of the disease are osteoarthritis, which my husband and I have, and rheumatoid arthritis (see arthritis facts). Less frequently occurring forms of arthritis include lupas, fibromyalgia, gout, carpal tunnel and psoriatic arthritis.

Arthritis is a complex disorder that can affect people at any stage of life, including children. A recent study estimated that 1 in 250 children have some arthritis type, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis or related condition.

Arthritis causes pain and loss of movements of the joints you rely on for everyday activities. Arthritis symptoms can develop gradually or suddenly; usually they become chronic. This means they can last on and off for a lifetime. If your joint pain, stiffness and/or swelling persist for more than two weeks, you may have arthritis. You should see your doctor for a proper diagnosis of your type of arthritis.

Natural treatments target pain and cartilage renewal for arthritis

To avoid potential harmful drug side effects, some arthritis sufferers seek chronic pain relief naturally with the possibility of cartilage renewal and benefit to overall health of the affected joints.

In addition to the joints, the term arthritis is used to describe rheumatic diseases and conditions that affect tissues that surround the joint and connective tissues.

The pattern, severity and location of symptoms can vary depending on the specific form of the disease. Typically, rheumatic conditions are characterized by pain and stiffness in and around one or more joints. Certain rheumatic conditions can also involve the immune system and various internal organs of the body.

If left undiagnosed and untreated, many types of arthritis can cause irreversible damage to the joints, bones, organs, and skin. See arthritis prevention

Arthritis has no cure from drugs or dietary supplements

Arthritis has no cure, and curiously, the inflammatory reaction of the body to rheumatoid arthritis cannot be repaired by the immune system, the body’s natural defense for inflammation.

In many forms of arthritis, the inflammation doesn’t go away in time, as it should. Instead, it becomes part of the problem, damaging healthy tissues of the body. This results in more inflammation and more damage—a continuing cycle.

Diseases in which the immune system malfunctions and attacks healthy parts of the body are in a subset of arthritis types called autoimmune diseases.

Medical practitioners are not certain about the cause of arthritis. However, for the arthritic person natural arthritis pain relief complements, or in many instances, replaces traditional prescription or over the counter non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) therapies. And, building the body from the inside out, natural supplements and natural vitamins have also become popular considerations for relieving inflammatory arthritis and symptoms for most arthritis types.

Natural pain relief products on increase but "buyer beware"

Choosing natural arthritis pain treatment is on the increase when conventional drug therapies are of concern or have not provided acceptable results. Arthritis-Relief-Naturally provides resources to increase the awareness of alternative natural arthritis treatments.

Natural products can relieve your pain and improve your health. However, buyer beware, there is a wide variance in quality.

Unfortunately, natural products have been part of a hype-filled industry unregulated by the federal watchdog (FDA) from 1994 until June of 2010, when the current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) become fully implemented.

This means presently you must be careful when choosing a natural product for your arthritis type.

Only one dietary supplement company has a 20-year landmark study

To help me find a top-tier dietary supplement manufacturer, I devised a list of 30 questions concerning standards of excellence that led my husband and I to the company referenced in the Landmark Study below. It's the only one that we trust for nutritional supplementation.

There's only one natural nutrition company that can claim a 20-year clinical landmark study on its consumers that verifies from blood samples that its supplement users retained normal levels of blood pressure, HDL cholesterol, triglycerides, C-reactive protein and homcysteine.

The 2006 study was conducted in collaboration with researchers from the U.C. Berkeley School of Public Health comparing one company's supplement users to people who took either no supplements or other brands of multivitamins from difference companies. For details, go to:

The best dietary supplements are backed by clinical studies

This website shows you how to find safe, pharmaceutical-grade natural supplements, backed by clinical studies of the products, not vague manufacturer’s references to the ingredients in the product. The best way to determine safety and efficacy is through clinical studies on the finished products. However, for the clinical study to have believability, it must be double-blind, placebo-controlled.

We've discovered that the natural company we use has the science.

It is not always possible to find clinical studies on finished products even from the best dietary supplement companies. But when a company like the one in the landmark study above has a history of published studies on some of its products over many years, you can be reasonably certain there's solid science behind the formulation all of their products.

Featured natural arthritis treatment

More and more people today are choosing safer alternatives to treat joint pain due to most arthritis types. After extensively researching natural treatment options for the discomforts of most arthritis types, including osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, we discovered in 2003 a breakthrough lineup of three products my husband and I have had tremendous success with.

We've been very happy with their ability to relieve our neck, knee and thumb arthritis symptoms without any side effects whatsover. Over time, these pain products have dramatically improved our flexibility of motion and reduced or eliminated pain, swelling and stiff joints. Best of all, we no longer use paid medication of any kind!

These special arthritis supplements contain all of the natural arthritis relieving nutrients, including glucosamine, boswellia, menthol and other special plant-based ingredients to help reduce inflammation as well as protect joints while providing long-lasting relief.

One of the products is a natural complex for chronic pain relief; a second is a natural complex for joint health; the third is a natural pain relief rub that we think is the best found anywhere on the market. We use each daily and can't imagine life without them.

From personal experience, I'm happy to recommend this very effective trio of products as safe natural remedies for most arthritis types.

Try one or all of these products and see if this natural, safe treatment works as well for you as they do for us.
