Live Microorganisms in the Gut
Improve Many Health Issues
Microorganisms are live probiotics which have become the latest health craze as these ‘good bacteria’ confer a health benefit when administered in adequate amounts in the gut. Some research shows these supplemental ‘friendly bacteria’ help improve diverse health issues from diarrhea to gout
Probiotics are dietary supplements of live bacteria or yeasts thought to be healthy for the host; most are good bacteria similar to those naturally found in people’s gut, especially in those of breastfed infants (who have natural protection against many diseases).
Microorganisms most often found in probiotic supplements come from two groups, Lactobacillus or Bifidobacterium. Within each group, there are different species (for example, Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidus), and within each species, different strains (or varieties).
Probiotic microorganisms help to maintain beneficial microflora balance to assist the colon in regaining a healthy environment.
